Do not disturb, disturbed enough.

The world seems like a much better place when you don't have someone telling you it isn't.

You know you have reached the bottom when you prefer watching men's handball instead of Gladiator...At 1am

I am not original... I am the combined effort of everybody I've ever known.

Don't worry, he's crazy, so he doesn't have to have any particular reasons for being up on a telephone pole.

Inconvenience is adventure wrongly considered.

Not gods, just men.

As I said before, I never repeat myself.

The locals were implacable. "When they see the corpses of their friends, they'll know we don't want them here."

"You're fucked up Mister, but you're cool."

"He's a jerk. I'm proud of my Indian blood. It helps pay my college tuition."

Every ending is a new beginning.
Your lucky number is none.
Your lucky color is dead.

"I read some book about brains. My roommate had it and she kept waving it around. It was like, how five thousand years ago the lobes of the brain fused and before that people thought when the right lobe of the brain said anything it was the voice of some god telling them what to do. It's just brains."
-Sam, American Gods

"I bet it's like space aliens. These days, people see space aliens. Back then they saw gods. Maybe the space aliens come from the right side of the brain."
"I don't think the gods ever gave rectal probes. And they didn't mutilate the cattle themselves. They got people to do it for them."

There was a girl, and her uncle sold her
There are accounts that, if we open our hearts to them, will cut us too deeply. Look-here is a good man, good by his own lights and the lights of his friends: he is faithful and true to his wife, he adores and lavishes attention on his little children, he cares about his country, he does his job punctiliously, as best he can. So, efficiently and good-naturedly, he exterminates Jews: he appreciates the music that plays in the background to pacify them; he advises the Jews not to forget their identification numbers as they go into the showers-many people, he tells them, forget their numbers, and take the wrong clothes when they come out of the showers. Our man supervises the detail taking the bodies to the ovens; and if there is anything he feels bad about, it is that he still allows the gassing of vermin to affect him. Were he a truly good man, he knows, he would feel nothing but joy as the earth is cleansed of its pests.

Common sense is just a collection of prejudices claimed by the age of 18.

I have heard the mermaids singing, each to each.
I do not think that they will sing to me.

When Saliva Dries
When all your workshop roman tongues run dry,

are you a writer yet?

25 workshops later and you've nodded your head and inwardly shook it no. Thought hard about everything though.

You writing yet?

Two years down comments upon comments shared, read, envoloped, nagged at the back of your mind "capitalize when proper, commas here, rhyme, don't rhyme."

write yet?

Feeling tired, can't write anymore, all dried up, no one seems to read you, " writing gets me no where," gee maybe this isn't for me.

yet?

You think you've written something? Really. Have you.

He *wanted* to have a drug problem; what he had was a stupidity problem.

"Why does he keep saying 'ing'?"
"Speech impediment."

Some pirates achieved immortality by great deeds of cruelty or derring-do. Some achieved immortality by amassing great wealth. But the captain had long ago decided that he would, on the whole, prefer to achieve immortality by not dying.

They had dined on horse meat, horse cheese, horse black pudding, hors d'oeuvres, and a thin beer that Rincewind didn't want to speculate about.

"My Cyclops action figure is super bendy!"
"Hee, good thing for Jean, huh?"
"Well, since I only have a Wolverine action figure to go with him, lucky Logan!"

I realize that I can't feel any nobility for what I write because I know my life could never be as moral as my songs.

A protest song is a song that's so specific that you cannot mistake it for
bullshit.

This borders between pacifism and treason, combining the best qualities of both. The fact that you won't be hearing this song [I Ain't Marching Anymore] over the radio is more than enough justification for the writing of it.

I believe there is still something inherent in the fiber of America worth saving, and that the fortunes of the entire world may well ride on the ability of young Americans to face the responsibilities of an old America gone mad.

Ah, but in such an ugly time th true protest is beauty.~Phil Ochs

We're just a new generationof actor-comedian-revolutionaries who get to face the impossible but only worthwhile battle.

"I want to be destroyed by art. I want to hear work that is so good poetically, so exciting musically, so original in arrangement and excecution that it can turn me inside out with the communication of feeling...Can an artist be satisfied with any less of a goal?"

America used to be the melting pot. Now that pot is boiling over.

"As much as I love super heroes, they have a comedic aspect. They're over the top. Using them to jump all over the current political situation is irresistable. Look,we've got John Ashcroft as Attorney General. You can't make this shit up."

I had a strange conversation a while ago when I told my boyfriend's grandmother that I love to read and write, and that I would love to be able to write a novel some day. Her response was "Well that's nice dear, but writing is a dying art.". I know that these days writing as a profession is looked at with somewhat the same regard as acting- idealistic, alternative, naieve, but I can't help but let that get to me. I find new books all the time that are full of creativity and life, so what's with that comment?

Death is the only constant.

God punished me when he created ignorance.

Maybe I am ugly, but you know what, I fucking like it. I am what I am and that IS something.
