bullshit.
This borders between pacifism and treason, combining the best qualities of both. The fact that you won't be hearing this song [I Ain't Marching Anymore] over the radio is more than enough justification for the writing of it.
I believe there is still something inherent in the fiber of America worth saving, and that the fortunes of the entire world may well ride on the ability of young Americans to face the responsibilities of an old America gone mad.

I had a strange conversation a while ago when I told my boyfriend's grandmother that I love to read and write, and that I would love to be able to write a novel some day. Her response was "Well that's nice dear, but writing is a dying art.". I know that these days writing as a profession is looked at with somewhat the same regard as acting- idealistic, alternative, naieve, but I can't help but let that get to me. I find new books all the time that are full of creativity and life, so what's with that comment?
